British corps and bands involved in Olympics
Jul 25, 2012

Several British corps and bands have already or will be taking part in significant Olympic events. Locally, regionally and in London.

Cleethorpe's East Coast Elite played a major role in their town's welcome and hosting of the Olympic Torch over 26th and 27th June. They performed an original fanfare written by Mark Bolton as 92 year old Jack Andrew carried the torch into the Olympic event. The band then paraded through the 8,000 crowd and after the cauldron was lit. East Cost Elite then performed a static interpretation of their 2012 show 'The Race'.

The Company Performance Ensemble will take part in the closing ceremony of the Olympics. The ceremony will take place on Sunday 12th August.
