Distant Thunder and Equinox join forces: Nexus
Jan 18, 2010

Nexus is a new drum corps project from Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. Formed as an amalgamation of the county's two drum & bugle corps organisations – Equinox and Distant Thunder – Nexus Drum & Bugle Corps will be taking to the field in BYBA for the first time in 2010.

The new organisation is based in both Biggleswade and Bedford with rehearsals taking place in both locations. John Dimmick and Andy Rees will serve as joint corps directors. Both are the former directors of Distant Thunder and Equinox respectively.

Andy Rees is quoted as saying "All current members of Equinox are excited about the 2010 season and enter in to this new project with a positive attitude. We look forward to this, the future of marching bands in Bedfordshire." John Dimmick stated "The members and staff of Distant Thunder are tremendously excited about the prospect of working with Equinox. We look forward to this being a long and successful partnership, enhancing the experience of marching band/drum corps for young people in Bedfordshire for many years to come."

Nexus will be competing in BYBA Division 3 for the upcoming 2010 season.
