Sep 17, 2012

The Starriders have prolonged their national title. The German powerhouse won the Premier Class of the German Open at the Wserbergland Stadium in Hameln on Saturday. Showband Rastede came second.

The Starriders scored 72.40 points in the Premier Class, more than enough to stay ahead of the competition. The battle for second place ended in favour of Showband Rastede, who narrowly beat Heartliner (65.45 and 65.05 respectively). Wölper Löwen came fourth with 63.40 points.

In the Concert Class, the Black Panthers won (50.70), followed in the ranking by the Blue Bandits (50.20) and the Red Stars (45.50). The Starriders Cadets (46.00) topped the Junior Class against Showband Rastede Youngsters (43.50).

Two major events of the European Music Games remain: next Saturday are the DCUK British Championships in Mansfield, and one week later the season will be concluded by the DCE European Championships in Kerkrade.
